Indoor Playroom for the public

Our playroom is available for all ages! Whether you have an infant practicing tummy time or an 8 year old with a vivid imagination, we want everyone to get Back to Play!

We do not have a strict shoes or socks policy; we understand children all have different preferences! Please note that our back sensory room is painted concrete so grip socks/shoes may be convenient for the littler members.

We also have a calming room available for any children (or adults!) that prefer a quieter space to play, need a reset of the sensory orientation, or just simply enjoy a darker, quiet room. It is also available for nursing parents and older children that wish to have somewhere away from the magic of loud play and want to sit and color, read, or work on puzzles. Need more quiet? We also have noise canceling headphones at the front desk you are welcome to use during your visit!

Infant and Post Partum Resources

We provide postpartum support to provide connection and resources for parents. We recognize the lack of services for this common parent
challenge nationwide, and also in our county. We also have items designated to help these caregivers available in our space such as wraps, carriers, diapers and wipes, infant scale and measuring mat.

Community Support and Workshops

We collaborate with other agencies and resources as often as our schedule allows us to bring more to our families at no cost. Check our events calendar for visitors such as the Children's Advocacy Center, Jeffco Health Department, Compass Health, JFCAC, and local counselors.

We also host our own caregiver workshops to provide educational and therapeutic support for common challenges along the journey of raising children such as emotional regulation, speech, nutrition and feeding help, music therapy, and more.

Resources for Foster Families

Foster families we see you! You receive 50% off ALL of our services, and we are also a great spot to have supervised visits. Your licensing agency can reach out about no cost visits, and even rent out our office space by the hour for therapeutic visits too. We now provide CPR and First Aid classes/renewals at no cost.

Education, Connection, and Outreach

We connect with other organizations, agencies, and individuals to connect with families and chat about what we're were all about. Come see us throughout Jefferson County's family events and the city of Desoto's parades! We attend as many events we can to share our mission and the importance of play!

Resident Therapy Dog

We're raising funds to train our resident therapy dog — a sweet, hypoallergenic puppy who will bring comfort, connection, and calm to children and families in our space.

Once trained, our furry friend will join us for:

🌟 Supervised visits during open play (by request)
🌟 Private therapy sessions
🌟 Therapeutic events
🌟 And one dedicated “Dog Day” each week!

Other Support for Families

  • Diapers and wipes available at no cost; we all get in a pickle sometimes and forget things or just need some
extra help. We’ve got you covered!
  • Need to get out of the house for your appointment? We welcome families and community workers for occupational therapy, speech therapy, First Steps, Parents as Teachers, ABA, and more. Private playroom options available too
  • Private office rental for therapist, case managers, and youth Clinicians: Rent by the hour, day, or month to month to use our office for sessions, documentation, and anything in your services to support families. Low rates and lovely amenities, please email info@backtoplaymo.org if interested!
  • Giveaways throughout the year such as Easter Baskets, Birthday parties, and Halloween costume help.
  • Clause for a Cause! Each year we partner with the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots Marines to provide and distribute holiday gifts for families in our community. We also sponsor local teens and purchase their Christmas gifts through shopping and volunteers, because sometimes other drives provide only until age 12. We anticipate offering more for our families each year as we gain the support, volunteers, and resources to bring holiday cheer!
