Back to Play focuses on child-led play, incorporating loose parts, dramatic, and messy play. Don’t stress we clean up the mess! Our playroom consists of a reading area, pretend kitchen, wooden fort, infant slide and older youth slide, sensory swings, and a climbing pikler. We aim to offer something for all ages, including our littlest explorers with dedicated items just for them including a ball pit, sorting/stacking, fidget board, and infant swing.

 

We do have a "no stress just mess” area reserved with a water table, painting, musical instruments, sensory bins, and themed play. We have several smocks available for children to protect clothes if preferred.

How do I reserve play?

Do you take walk-ins? 

• Absolutely! We suggest calling ahead of time on busier days or checking our Facebook page for updates. We may have reservations full or private events to look out for. 

Can we bring in snacks and drinks? 

• You are most welcome to bring in food and drinks. We simply ask they stay in our seating area and you do your best to clean up when you're finished. 

Are shoes/socks required? 

• Shoes and socks are not required; however, our floors are concrete with rubber mats and rugs throughout the play space. Please keep that in mind for comfort!

Can my infant visit too? 

• Absolutely! We have a dedicated space for infants 18 months and under. We also have a mama-roo swing/rocker for those under 6 months. 

What does the parking look like? 

• There is free street parking along DeSoto Main Street, including handicap spaces directly in front of our door. There is also free parking directly to the right of our building along Mineral St. Saturdays will be busier than usual so plan for walking a bit down the sidewalk. 

Do you do birthday parties or private events?

• We do have private playroom rental opportunities on weekdays for field trips, daycare visits, home school co-ops, residential programs, etc. Our price is $5/child for a three-hour time period (10-1 pm or 12-3 pm with a minimum of 15 children registered) or $250 for the entire day. You are welcome to bring lunch and eat in our back room or you may leave for lunch and come back to play!

• Birthday Parties are on Saturdays from 3-5 pm only. We offer support with our community donations of birthday decorations if you are interested. We hope to accommodate your party however you would like! Feel free to visit us beforehand to talk about how you would like it set up and any specific toys available :)
